Watch the pMD MIPS Webinar, recorded live, as we talk about the basics of MIPS participation where we will review the multiple exclusions and exceptions in the program, differences and considerations for choosing between individual and group reporting, various reporting mechanisms available this year, and the three submission strategies available for your practice during the 2017 reporting year.
The goal of our MIPS webinar is to give health care providers the basic information necessary to make the foundational decisions to successfully report MIPS in 2017. Presenters Kate Emminger and Beka Prince provide a high-level overview of what MIPS is, followed by a discussion on how much data you should submit and how to submit that data to CMS.
What is MIPS?
The Merit-Based Incentive Payment System, or MIPS, is the new program that will determine payment adjustments for Medicare. Eligible professionals may receive a payment bonus, a payment penalty, or no payment adjustment based on composite performance score. MIPS performance began on January 1, 2017 and measures eligible providers annually in four performance categories to derive a “MIPS score.” The MIPS score can significantly impact a provider’s Medicare reimbursement in each payment year from -9% to +27% by 2022.
MIPS is a complicated topic, so it is not surprising that there is a lot of confusion about this new program. pMD, a certified MIPS registry, clears some of the confusion by providing information that makes MIPS easier to understand.
The last half of the video includes the webinar’s Q & A session, in which Kate and Beka answer attendees’ questions, such as what is a QCDR, how is a QCDR different from a qualified registry and how can providers without an EHR submit data.
